While the plot of Lords' Tears may not be as complex as the one in RiftLinks, there's a little less freedom with characters. However, these character-creating guidelines will only enhance the enjoyment of fellow Role Players while on Lords' Tears. They include:
MIX- Mixed with any of the above
LIM- Please keep limited
RES- Restricted
Races...
As stated above, Lords' Tears isn't nearly as flexible with character races as is RiftLinks. The allowed races are as follows:
---Humans
---Elves
---Half Elves
---Dwarves
---Half Dwarves
---Anthropomorphic/Zoomorphic Humans: animals with human qualities/humans with animal qualities, respectively (LIM)
---Demons
---Half Demons (MIX)
---Fallen Angels (LIM)
---Shapshifters--Human only for race-even distribution sake (LIM)
---Vampires (LIM)
---Mermen/Mermaids (LIM/must have legs when on land; see plot as to why they're allowed)
***Please send a PM to me if you have any questions on additional races.
Weaponry...
It wouldn't be a fantasy RP without weapons and magic, but there are some restrictions. Characters cannot dual wield swords AND carry a bow/arrows AND cast magic AND shapeshift AND have a pet, etc.. I've seen way too many of these kind of characters while I've traveled many RP boards, and that kind of perfection gets old really, really fast.
Royalty...
I'm really not fond of "runaway royalties", so if you plan to be a character of such class, you must follow these rules:
---Only ONE of each Royal Family position for this whole site (King, Queen, Prince, Princess, etc.), and those willing to fill the roles may have to follow premade guidelines (names and such). Guards and knights are infinite.
---Please don't flame me with "gender descrimination" rants, but only the King or Prince may wield a BASIC weapon and fight (so if you're trying to be a runawat princess, pair her with another character or just live with her being weaponless). If you honestly think about it, Princesses didn't start branishing swords back in the Medieval times very often, and even princes didn't rush to the front lines in war.
---The King and/or Queen may not become "runaway royalty", period.
Those're pretty much the only rules that should be followed while on Lords' Tears, so as long as you follow them, you can go ahead and create your ideal character(s).
